For Roger, a former pharmacist with an eye for quality, The Baytree offered the perfect balance of tranquility, independence and proximity to essential services. Drawn to the community’s prestigious location in the heart of Greenwich on Sydney’s Lower North Shore, he was equally impressed by the residence’s exceptional amenities and thoughtful design. Since settling in, Roger has embraced a life of quiet sophistication where he has found harmony in both peaceful solitude and enriching social engagement. This makes his decision to call The Baytree home one of the most fulfilling of his life.
At The Baytree every detail is designed to elevate daily living, creating a refined environment where community and individuality thrive in equal measure.
A pharmacist by profession, Roger spent a decade residing in a charming terrace house in Lavender Bay, accompanied by his beloved cat, Bender. In 2020, however, he chose to transition to a more considered lifestyle at The Baytree by Ardency.
Though he held a deep affection for his previous home, circumstances gradually prompted reflection. “A rather disruptive family moved in next door, which unsettled the peace I had valued. Not long after, I suffered a minor heart attack. That moment served as a wake-up call. I began to think more practically about my comfort, safety and quality of life. I was looking for a home where I could live on a single level in a peaceful environment that was close to emergency services where I could get help when I needed it. Ten years later, I dug out The Baytree flyer I had tucked away when it arrived in the post, made the call and never looked back.”
Ideally positioned near medical centres and the Royal North Shore Hospital, The Baytree ticked all of Roger's carefully considered criteria. The presence of a registered nurse onsite twice weekly, offering in-home care and liaising directly with healthcare providers, combined with a 24 hour emergency call system, offered Roger the peace of mind he sought in this next chapter of life.
It was, however, the apartments themselves that truly captivated him. He loved the design and spaciousness of the homes. "I didn’t feel like I was downsizing. My unit has as much room in the main living area as I had in my dining and living rooms combined in my terrace home. I have a large balcony, a garden and a sweeping vista of the Blue Mountains. I can honestly say that I could have lived in this place at any stage of my life."
The setting is equally remarkable. Immersed in beautifully maintained gardens, the residence also boasts a refined café and restaurant framed by a dramatic wall of glass offering an uninterrupted view of treetops and sky. “Such a view is a rarity in Sydney. I was absolutely sold,” Roger adds.
Roger deeply values autonomy and life at The Baytree seamlessly complements his independent lifestyle. “What I enjoy most about living here is the freedom of choice. I can come and go as I wish. I can participate as much or as little in group activities as I want to. There's no coercion and there's no resentment if you don't join in. It's the freedom.”
A man of quiet contemplation, Roger finds joy in solitary pursuits. “I take pleasure in walking, tending to my balcony garden with its lemon trees, herbs and vibrant blooms. In my quiet time, I like to read, listen to music and cook.” This harmonious balance between privacy and community is what makes The Baytree not just a residence, but a sanctuary.
